Blog #6 - Summer 2024

This summer has been an absolute whirlwind of joy, celebration, and unforgettable memories. From gardening with our niece and nephew to cheering on a dear friend at the Paris Olympics, every moment was filled with warmth and love.

One of the highlights of our summer was spending time with our niece and nephew in the garden. Watching their little hands dig into the soil, plant seeds, and marvel at the growth of each plant was heartwarming. It reminded us of the simple joy that nature brings. We made sure to capture every moment of their excitement as they watered the flowers and ate tomatoes off the vine in the garden. It was the perfect way to kick off the season!

The 4th of July was another celebration filled with laughter and sunshine. We gathered with family and friends for a day at the beach, followed by a pool party. The fireworks lighting up the sky felt extra special, surrounded by loved ones, grilling our favorite foods, and watching the kids splash around. The sand between our toes, the waves crashing in the background, and the bright colors of the fireworks made for a perfect summer day.

Next up was an incredible trip to Europe. We started in London, where the historic streets, iconic landmarks, and the charm of the city captivated us. From the Tower of London to the bustling markets, we explored every corner, soaking in the culture and enjoying the vibrant city life.

Then, we made our way to Paris for an extra special reason—the Olympics! One of our dear friends was competing, and there was nothing quite like being in the stands, waving our flags, and cheering her on. The energy of the city, combined with the excitement of the games, made this an unforgettable experience.

After the buzz of Paris, we headed to the Portuguese coast to relax. The serene beaches, delicious seafood, and breathtaking views were the perfect way to unwind. Portugal's coastline is stunning, and we spent our days lounging on the beach, walking along the cliffs, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

Once back home, we decided to have a little fun in the kitchen with our niece, Addie. We made Pinkalicious cupcakes because of her favorite book, and the kitchen was filled with giggles and frosting-covered faces. Mixing up the batter, adding pink food coloring, and decorating the cupcakes brought out our inner child. The cupcakes turned out as sweet as the time spent together, and we all enjoyed devouring them afterward.

As the seasons began to change, we embraced the pending change in season with a fun apple-picking trip. We went with Steve’s sister’s family and it was a day filled with laughter as we explored the farm, filled our baskets with apples, and sipped on fresh cider. The orchard was beautiful, and it was so taking a hay ride with our nieces. 

To top it all off the season, Kim celebrated a dear friend at her baby shower. It was a beautiful event filled with love, laughter, and all the excitement that comes with welcoming a new life into the world. The ice cream themed decorations were charming, the games were fun, and being surrounded by close friends made the day even more special. We can’t wait to meet the little one soon!

This summer has truly been one for the books—a blend of adventure, celebration, and cherished moments with those we love. Here's to more seasons of joy and making memories!
