I know it has been a bit since we have provided an update. We have been keeping ourselves busy through the holiday season with some of our favorite family traditions. As we reflect on the past few months, we are filled with gratitude for the many wonderful memories we’ve made and the special people who have shared them with us. We wanted to share some highlights for a glimpse into the love, laughter, and joy that fill our lives as we look forward to growing our family through adoption.
Baseball season is always lively in our house! As a Mets fan, Steve and a Yankees fan, Kim, we’ve perfected the art of friendly rivalry. This year, we went to games, cheering for our respective teams and enjoying the energy of the ballpark. October was especially exciting as we watched playoff baseball, sharing snacks and spirited debates on the couch. While our teams might not always align, our love for the game brings us closer.
We’ve been lucky to celebrate big moments with the people we care about. This fall, we celebrated our niece's confirmation. We also celebrated love at a beautiful wedding for a close friend. The wedding was in Saratoga which brought a weekend getaway, where we enjoyed the charm of the town and some much-needed relaxation. Both events reminded us of the importance of family, friendship, and creating a supportive community.
Kim spent a memorable girls day in the city with our niece, taking her to see the "Pinkalicious" show and enjoying a delicious lunch together. Watching her eyes light up during the performance was pure magic.
Fall and winter are our favorite times of the year, full of traditions that bring our family together. We dressed up for Halloween and went trick-or-treating with our nieces and nephews, sharing laughs and candy along the way. The weekend before Thanksgiving, we ran a 5K Turkey Trot through our neighborhood, high-fiving neighbors and soaking in the crisp fall air. The run actually passes right by our house!
December was packed with festive moments. We caught up with close friends in the city, celebrated Kim’s Dad’s birthday with a family dinner, and cheered on our niece as she danced in the Nutcracker and our younger niece as she sang at a Christmas tree lighting. Our annual cookie-baking day was a sweet success, with flour flying and trays of delicious treats filling the kitchen. We ended the year with a warm and joyful Christmas surrounded by family.
As 2024 came to an end, we have beautiful reminders of the love and connection that anchor our lives. Whether it’s a simple day at home, a big celebration, or a new adventure, we’re grateful for the memories we’ve created and the people who make them so special.
As we prepare for the next chapter of our journey, we can’t wait to welcome a child into our lives and share all the love, laughter, and traditions that define who we are. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We hope to connect with you soon and share more about the family we’re so excited to build.
